Corrales Counseling
Kathleen Slattery, MSW, LISW
A little about me.
I have over 20 years of experience working as a clinical social worker, with 16 years working for the VA hospital providing individual counseling to adults. Before I worked at the VA, I worked teaching parenting classes, with children who were victims of sexual abuse and with at risk seniors.

I received my graduate training at Washington University in St. Louis, one of the top schools for clinical social work training. At the VA, I worked in the outpatient mental health clinic where I saw adults ages 18-90+ (as many women as men) with all different types of problems. I led an anxiety management group for many years, taught a group about managing symptoms of PTSD, facilitated a depression group and a support group for women. I served as the social work student intern coordinator as well. I loved my clinical work at the VA but left a few years ago to pursue other interests. I’ve really missed doing therapy and helping others so I decided to pursue clinical work again.

I am practical and focused and committed to helping you achieve your stated goals.
I have lived in New Mexico for over 15 years, and currently live in Corrales with my husband, my dog and 2 cats. I have two adult stepsons who live in Albuquerque. I enjoy reading, dancing, walking with my dog and theatre.

This is my office. It is cozy, comfortable and private. I consider it a sacred space that promotes feelings of safety and relaxation.

My dog, Simon.
